This was painted near the marina in Oriental, NC during the North Carolina Plein Air Festival. I loved the idea that this worn down boat that was in for repairs was named Shadowfax. Any LOTR fan will see the wonder irony in that name.

This painting features a house and shed on the outskirts of Watkinsville, GA. This piece was so fun to paint and the interplay of the house with the foliage made for some incredibly interesting edges. At places in the painting the two seem to meld together and at other spots they are as crisp as can be. Just such an interesting thing to explore. This painting was juried into the 2023 Southworks exhibit at OCAF and also was selected for the 2023 American Impressionist Society Associate Member Exhibit.
This painting is a larger version of a Plein Air study I had done earlier in the year. The light was so warm while I was painting and it was so much fun to capture that on a larger canvas. The Golden Road was recently displays at the Oconee Cultural Arts Foundation (OCAF) 2023 Member’s Exhibition in Watkinsville, GA.
